Battlefront Malta is embarking on another ambitious project focusing on Operation Market Garden. 2024 marks 80 years since British troops landed in Northern France before fighting through Belgium and the Netherlands. Liberation Task Force will be organising a very special convoy travelling the exact same route XXX Corps took back in 1944 with hundreds of original armoured and soft-skinned vehicles and re-enactors. 

Battlefront Malta members will be participating as part of the 231st ‘Malta’ Brigade REME workshops with our very own Standard Utility. After driving all the way from Malta to North West Europe, we aim to act as a mobile repair unit just as REME personnel were for the Allied advance through Europe 80 years ago. 

We are also very happy to be working with the REME museum in the UK and shall be representing the museum in the Netherlands. Our aim is to generate a deeper appreciation for the role REME played in Op. Market Garden as well as to promote REME’S history safeguarded within the museum.  This project is also kindly supported by Visit Malta.
